ATOJ: Bloomline Jazz Quintet
The Bloomline Jazz Quintet brings modern jazz with the energy of a live club setting and the warmth of an acoustic band. The line-up — piano, bass, drums, guitar and alto sax — creates a sound that sounds both tight and accessible.
ABOUT
De band speelt een mix van minder bekende jazzstukken en eigen werk, geïnspireerd door hardbop en moderne jazz. Melodie en samenspel staan centraal, met ruimte voor improvisatie en dynamiek.
Frontman Louis Sloot geeft de band een herkenbaar geluid met zijn alt- en sopraansax. Gitarist Timo Smits selecteert en bewerkt veel van het repertoire en vormt samen met de sax het melodische hart van de groep. Bassist Ferdinand Schmutzer en drummer Marcel Cnoops zorgen voor een solide groove, terwijl pianist Frans Pietjouw met zijn veelzijdige spel extra kleur en spanning toevoegt.
Het resultaat: eigentijdse jazz met karakter, gespeeld door muzikanten die elkaar perfect aanvoelen.

Papa and the Mountain Berg is a picture book about lung cancer and loss. The book was created from the experiences of different families dealing with lung cancer. It's inspired by the loss of Iris' father to lung cancer. The mountain-shaped book is made to make the conversation about loss, something you can’t ignore, easier for young and old.
