Bereid je voor op een muzikale wereldreis met BOI AKIH! Dit buitengewone duo, bestaande uit de Boy Edgar Prijs 2023 winnares Monica Akihary en meestergitarist Niels Brouwer, neemt je mee op een avontuurlijke klankreis die grenzen en genres overstijgt.
BOI AKIH's unieke geluid is een verbluffende fusie van jazz, Europese en Molukse muziektradities. Monica's poëtische vocalen in het Engels en het zeldzame Haruku (een Molukse taal) dansen samen met Niels' gelaagde gitaarcomposities, waardoor een dialoog ontstaat tussen verschillende werelden en culturen.
Van het North Sea Jazz Festival tot optredens voor duizenden in Ambon, BOI AKIH's muziek raakt harten over de hele wereld. Papa and the Mountain Berg is a picture book about lung cancer and loss. The book was created from the experiences of different families dealing with lung cancer. It's inspired by the loss of Iris' father to lung cancer. The mountain-shaped book is made to make the conversation about loss, something you can’t ignore, easier for young and old.
