Jiroh & Friends is an energetic fusion formation, founded by bassist Jiroh Matulessy, in which five driven musicians together create a sonic walhalla of deep grooves, abstract textures and fiery improvisations. The band moves effortlessly between raw power and refined subtlety, with a sound that is as adventurous as it is danceable.
ABOUT
Met Sjoerd van Eijck op fender Rhodes en synthesizer, Jiroh Matulessy op basgitaar, Filip Schrijver op gitaar, Thijmen Molema op drums en Fabio de Almeida op saxofoon smeedt Jazzkitchen een eigenzinnig en herkenbaar geluid, geworteld in de rijke traditie van jazzfusion maar altijd met de blik vooruit.
Het repertoire bestaat uit iconische fusionstukken van onder meer Jeff Lorber en Billy Cobham, aangevuld met eigen composities waarin collectieve virtuositeit en creatieve vrijheid centraal staan. Elke performance is een explosieve mix van groove, improvisatie en experiment—onvoorspelbaar, intens en altijd met een eigen smaak.
