KS: The Small Town Bigband
Let yourself be carried away this Sunday afternoon by the warm, authentic sounds of big band jazz. Or better yet: get up, feel the rhythm and swing along because The Small Town Bigband is back in town!
This Breda band with 40 years of experience, takes you on a musical journey through the history of Big Band music.
ABOUT
In de sound herken je de roots van de echte Big Band muziek. Die wordt afgewisseld met prikkelende modernere stukken. Van klassieke jazz/swing in de stijl van Count Basie, Duke Ellington en Sammy Nestico (jaren '40-50), tot Salsa, Bossa Nova en moderne composities van Miles Davis, Charlie Mingus, Paul Murtha, Mike Stern en Erik Morales. Een heerlijke smeltkroes van diversiteit, maar altijd herkenbaar voor het publiek.
In de afgelopen twee jaar heeft The Small Town Bigband onder leiding van Adri Kas de puntjes op de i gezet en met volle energie gewerkt aan nieuw repertoire. En natuurlijk schittert hun eigen First Lady of Jazz weer op het podium: Lisette Spee.

Papa and the Mountain Berg is a picture book about lung cancer and loss. The book was created from the experiences of different families dealing with lung cancer. It's inspired by the loss of Iris' father to lung cancer. The mountain-shaped book is made to make the conversation about loss, something you can’t ignore, easier for young and old.
